In this Southern small-town drama called the Hart of Dixie, a big-city fresh-out-of-med-school female doc heads to a rural area to learn how to “treat people instead of puzzles.” Of course, she goes reluctantly, and only with the hope of earning a prized hospital position the following year in New York.
Zoe Hart is a frog without her lily pad, once she arrives in Dixie, and the townsfolk are either offended by her, envious of her position, or harmed by her medical care. Viewers are treated to a bit of a plot twist in the beginning that looks like it may soften the driven doc, and give her fresh eyes in which to view her new home.
I was all set to spout off that the premise is old, medical shows are a dime a dozen, and the Southern folk are, well, stereotypical, but by the end of this video, I felt like I was back at home with The Gilmore Girls, and that’s not such a bad thing.
