Gene Simmons came to his senses after 27 years, and finally asked his long-time live-in baby-mama Shannon Tweed to marry him, but will they marry? At the moment, I have my doubts.
This season, the ‘Gene Simmons Family Jewels’ reality show morphed from a whimsical look at the Kiss rock star’s home movies and family life, to a sad and serious revelation of what one man’s ego and entitlement can do to a family unit.
As a young female teen, my dad always stressed the idiom, “Why buy the cow, if you can get the milk for free,” which is so true with this relationship. Finally having experienced enough of this disrespectful relationship, Tweed moved out and issued an ultimatum that was pretty much overdue. Simmons realized that he needed someone other than himself in his tiny selfish world, and impressively sought help for his demons.
I’m very proud of him for “manning up” and making an honest woman of Tweed,” but according to ‘People‘, it may be too late for their relationship to survive. Stay tuned.
